Weather Shite Again

After weeks of sweltering heat and glorious sunshine, the weather has suddenly taken a turn for the worse with overcast skies and rain covering much of the country.

The change in conditions has left many people wondering if that’s the end of the good weather for this year. So what can we expect in the coming weeks and months? We asked Anthony Heffernan from Met Eireann what kind of weather we have in store for the rest of the year.

“Mainly shite weather.” he told us. “The recent lovely weather is finished and that’s the end of it for this year so don’t be codding yourself thinking otherwise.

“We often hear people in this country saying they wouldn’t bother going abroad on holidays if we had sunny weather in Ireland. Well get booking those flights folks because normal service has resumed.”

Does Anthony think we’ll have another heatwave next year?

“Yes I’m sure we will. For about 3 or 4 days. Those grey skies you see today are what you’ll be seeing for 99% of the rest of you life. This is Ireland folks, not the Canary Islands. Basically you’ve got two options. Stop moaning or emigrate.”
