Florida family’s trampoline lands in garden in West Cork

A trampoline that blew away from a family home in Florida has landed in a garden in Skibbereen in County Cork.

The trampoline apparently belongs to the Williams family from Tampa Bay and was sent flying across the Atlantic when Hurricane Milton made landfall in Florida at approximately 1:30am Irish time.

Mayor of Skibbereen Michael Murphy told reporters the trampoline isn’t the only thing that got blown all the way to Ireland from Florida this morning.

“There’s a few items of patio furniture, a couple of wheelie bins and several small children. There’s even a road sign that says Welcome to Florida. Obviously we’ll get the children back to their families as soon as possible but I’m keeping the road sign. Just as a souvenir like. It’s lovely so it is.”

News channels from around the world are reporting live from Skibbereen as we speak and are saying this is the first time in history debris from a hurricane in the United States has landed on Irish soil.

Apart from UK channels who predictably are saying this is the first time in history debris from a hurricane in the United States has landed on British soil but that’s because they’re a bunch of stupid thick bastards. We’ll have more on this breaking news as it happens.
