Government confirms everyone in Ireland can take tomorrow off work
The government has confirmed that every working adult in Ireland can take tomorrow off work with pay.
Taoiseach Simon Harris told reporters at a press conference this evening that nobody should have to leave their homes during the current status orange weather warning.
“There’s snow everywhere. All over the country. Nothing but snow. Don’t go to work tomorrow. Don’t leave the house. Not unless you want to be confronted with snow.”
Mr Harris was asked when he thinks it will be safe for people to return to work.
“Well I’m no expert but I’d say probably never. May Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the baby Jesus and all the saints in heaven help us. We’re all doomed!”
People are being urged to take the current warnings seriously as heavy snow has in the past caused people to slip and in some tragic cases, even fall over.
