Local Stradbally pub singer to headline Electric Picnic next year
Festival Republic have already completed next year’s line up for Electric Picnic. Tickets go on sale tomorrow and as always will sell out in minutes regardless of the line up so organisers have decided to make local pub singer John-Joe Delaney the main headline act.
Joe Walsh of Festival Republic told us “What’s the point in booking the likes of Kylie who cost a fortune when we can give a lad a hundred quid to do the same thing? It sells out anyway. This year’s line-up was ultimately shite but nobody really cared and it was very expensive to hire the acts. John-Joe can belt out ‘Ooh Ah Up the Ra’ a lot cheaper that the fecking Wolfe Tones.”
Mr Walsh said people will notice a lot of changes at Electric Picnic from next year.
“We’ve also decided to halve the number of toilets. This year they were overflowing on to the grass which had no issue soaking it up so there’s really no need for all those toilets.”
Also in a further revision next year, family camping will be located in Carlow.
“The current 2 mile walk in is just too near and too expensive so we’ve rented a field in Carlow for a fraction of the cost. A good walk after your €15 burgers will do families no harm anyway. I saw way too many chubby kids waddling around the site this year. You’re welcome, parents.”
