Oasis Croke Park tickets sold out even though nobody managed to get one

Tickets for Oasis two Croke Park concerts are completely sold out, although nobody in Ireland seems to have got one.

Fans nationwide joined the Ticketmaster queue at 8am with most being informed that there were around half a million people ahead of them, even though there were only 160,000 tickets available.

The queue numbers gradually went down over several hours as people were told repeatedly that they should continue to hold their place in the queue as tickets were still available.

Anyone who gave up and tried to buy UK tickets were then informed that they were already in a queue and it was not possible to leave the Croke Park queue, even if they logged out or turned their device off and on again.

But here’s the best bit. What people didn’t know is Ticketmaster can advertise standing tickets as costing €80 but when there is big demand for those tickets, they then rename them ‘in-demand’ standing tickets and up the price to €400. And this morning with the Oasis pitch tickets that’s exactly what they did.

We tried to contact someone from Ticketmaster for a comment but apparently they’ve all gone into hiding.

We’ll have more on this breaking news as it unfolds.
