People who bought houses beside airport not happy about all the aeroplanes

By Paul McRingo

Residents living in the vicinity of Dublin Airport have said they are not happy about all the aeroplanes.

Airport authorities have been granted permission to increase the number of flights it can operate, and extend the hours that it can use Dublin Airport’s second runway.

Doctor William Blakeley lives close to the flight paths and he told us the decision to grant permission for extra flights is ridiculous.

“I spent huge money on my house because I was assured St. Margaret’s is a posh area and I’m very posh. Nobody told me there was an airport nearby. It’s ridiculous! Why can’t Dublin Airport be moved to Ballyfermot or some other God foresaken kip.”

Mary Devlin also lives near the airport and says it’s just not fair for local residents.

“Just because I built a house 2km from the end of a runway doesn’t mean I should see or hear aeroplanes. Except the ones I’m on of course. They’re fine. But all other planes must be stopped immediately. There should be no take-offs or landings in Dublin Airport while I’m at home.”

Next week, we speak to people who bought houses beside Croke Park who tell us they’re not happy about all the matches.
