Disappointment as Storm Agnes turns out to be a bit of windy rain

There is disappointment in most parts of the country this evening after Storm Agnes turned out to be nothing more than a bit of windy rain.

Excitement had built up nationwide as people were hoping to see at least a few trampolines flying past their windows but alas, it wasn’t to be.

Conor Colgan from Met Eireann told us “We’re as disappointed as everyone else. We predicted destruction, mayhem and devastation but what we got was a tree blowing over in Cork.”

One woman in Ballybunion almost lost her umbrella when an unexpected gust of wind surprised her but she managed to hold onto it and then carried on walking her dog on the beach.

ESB networks reported power outages in several houses in South Tipperary but that was fixed within an hour so it’s hardly worth talking about.

Tonight Agnes will leave our shores and tomorrow Ireland will get back to normal weather conditions. Windy and rainy.
