Singer Sam Smith says he now identifies as a Sausage Roll

British singer Sam Smith has said that he now identifies as a sausage roll.

Smith told BBC News this morning that there are too many people identifying as the same gender as him and he called on people to stop doing it.

“They’re all copying me. Get your own bloody gender. I was the first person ever to demand to be referred to in the plural. Now you can’t move for theys and thems. That was my thing.”

Smith has in the past identified as male, female, transgender, gender-neutral, non-binary, agender, pangender, demigender, cisgender and bender-gender. He said the reason he now wants to be a sausage roll is because he can’t imagine anyone else would be mental enough to do the same.

“It’s the most ridiculous thing I could think of. A bloody sausage roll. If anyone else tries to identify as a sausage roll they can fuck off.”

Within minutes of the interview being aired more than 500 UK trans rights activists declared themselves sausage rolls. The British government has already confirmed sausage rolls will be added to the list of officially recognised genders which now stands at 117.
