Klopp Confident Liverpool Can Stay Up
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said he is confident the club can stay up this season and keep their place in the English Premier League. The German was summing up his team’s performance after today’s 3-1 defeat to Leicester City when he made his prediction.
“3-1 is a good result against Leicester City. They are a top team like we used to be and if you offered me that result before the game I would have taken it. I think today’s minus two goal difference is something to be proud of and we will remember it when we have our celebration party for staying up at the end of the season.”
Klopp said rumours that Robbie Fowler has been asked to come out of retirement to help stop the rot are complete nonsense, explaining that the club has not been in contact with the former striker and that it’s actually Ian Rush they’ve approached about a return to football.
During today’s game, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker was guilty of committing yet another howler that gifted the opposition a goal and the club have confirmed they are in the process of making an Alisson Bloopers video which they say will be available to buy in the Liverpool club shop this summer.
