Tánaiste says violent disorder on Dublin’s Dorset Street probably just a harmless game of cricket

Tánaiste Simon Harris has said that the violent disorder that took place on Dublin’s Dorset Street at the weekend was probably just a harmless game of cricket.
Migrant gangs were filmed charging down the city centre street attacking each other with weapons that appeared to include baseball bats, lumps of wood and cricket bats.
The Tánaiste however said people should stop jumping to conclusions.
“I’ve been told cricket bats were involved so who’s to say it wasn’t just a harmless little game of cricket? That video circulating is nothing but far-right propaganda and anyone who watches it is racist. That’s all I have to say on the subject. This topic is now closed forever.”
Despite clear video footage of the melee recorded on a mobile phone, no arrests have been made and none are expected to be made.
RTE and Virgin Media News both agreed that the best way to cover the story is to not mention it and pretend it never happened.
