African mob attacks random locals in Virginia, Co. Cavan

Gardai are quizzing five Africans after a mob of teenagers went on a spree of violence in Virginia, Co Cavan.

The suspects, who are all claiming to be aged between 15 and 16, were arrested after a series of connected violent incidents on Tuesday afternoon.

The incidents included an attack on a young father, a supermarket security guard – and a brutal assault on a local pensioner as he walked along the street.

“It was a rampage,” one local said.

We have learned that around 20 gardai responded to the incident within 10 minutes of the alarm being raised – and the helicopter from the Garda Air Support Unit was also called in.

The horror attacks began on the shores of Lough Ramor on the outskirts of the town just before 7pm.

It is reported that a father and his young children were targeted by some of the Africans after a verbal altercation.

He is understood to have been badly beaten in the incident and was later hospitalised.

A few minutes later, a security guard at a supermarket was also viciously attacked.

That is believed to be connected to an incident earlier in the day when some of the suspects tried to steal alcohol.

The third incident happened on the town’s Main Street – and involved an unprovoked attack on a local pensioner.

Footage of the incident that emerged on social media shows at least two of the African savages brutally punching the man – who then tries to defend himself.

Brave locals quickly stepped in to help the man – and confront the attackers, who then fled the area.

Sources tell us the attack was unprovoked – and the man was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He is understood to have suffered blows to the head and was also taken to hospital.

Gardai rushed to the scene and arrested the five animals within minutes.

The Garda investigation is ongoing.
