Happy birthday to Jedward who turn 54 today

Wanna feel old? Irish pop duo Jedward turn 54 years old today.

The famous twin brothers from Dublin who shot to fame on UK TV show The X Factor back in 2000 have slipped out of the limelight in recent years and haven’t been seen on anything of note for quite some time.

We caught up with the lads when we spotted them singing Christmas carols outside Lidl on Talbot Street in Dublin city centre this morning and asked them what they’ve been up to lately.

“Not a whole pile.” said John. Or possibly Edward. “Our phone doesn’t ring anymore. Nobody ever calls us. We ring Louis every day but there seems to be something wrong with his phone because it just keeps ringing out.”

“Yeah.” said the other one. “Imagine how silly and embarrassed he’s going to feel when he realises he’s been missing our calls for the last five years.”

The boys said they’ve been trying to come up with ways of keeping themselves busy but so far without success.

“We asked RTE if we could represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest again but apparently we’re not even entering this year because we can’t find anyone good enough. For God’s sake guys we’re right here. Call us back! Maybe there’s something wrong with their phones too.”

We called Louis Walsh (who answered his phone immediately) and asked him if he has any plans to work with Jedward in the near future. He told us he’d rather drink a pint of his own piss.
