Local man gets Uzbekistan and Iran in his work World Cup draw

A local man who drew Uzbekistan and Iran in his work World Cup draw has admitted to being more than a little pissed off.

Jamie Coughlan told us he was really looking forward to the tournament but says he now probably won’t even bother his hole watching it.

“I didn’t know Iran had qualified and I had no idea there was a country called Uzbekistan. To be honest I thought it was a type of rug.”

Co-workers confirmed Coughlan spent the next 20 minutes staring silently at a map of the world while repeatedly muttering “Where the fuck is it?”

His friend tried to reassure him by explaining that Uzbekistan had qualified on merit and were considered an emerging football nation.

“That made it worse,” said Jamie. “I was hoping it was a pretend, made-up place and that this was all a big joke. Even the lad who got Canada is laughing at me.”
