RTE and BBC are planning to combine popular TV soaps Fair City and EastEnders into one big super soap called FairEnders.

The move comes in the wake of ITV making a crossover episode of Coronation Street and Emmerdale, calling in Corriedale.

However, an RTE insider told us that once FairEnders is up and running, both Fair City and EastEnders will be cancelled.

So what can viewers expect from the new super soap?

Our source told us “FairEnders will combine the questionable acting and shaky sets of Fair City with the depressing storylines of EastEnders that make you want to find the nearest tall building, climb up to the roof and jump. It’s everything a soap should be.

“Also, this is the biggest collaboration between RTE and BBC since Mrs Brown’s Boys and I think we can all agree that the quality of that show isn’t even up for debate.”

Indeed it is not. We’ll have more on this breaking news as it happens.
