Many parts of Ireland are today basking in the glory of a whopping 13 degrees Celsius and people are being encouraged to go outside and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.

All over the country people are washing bird shit off garden furniture and enjoying the fairly nippy rather than freezing cold weather.

The fairly nippy weather has seen off-licences and supermarkets reportedly selling cider by the truckload as Ireland’s favourite summertime drink flies off the shelves. We asked Luke Molloy from Met Eireann how long we can expect the sunny weather to last.

“About four hours.” he told us. “The sun will disappear behind a blanket of dark grey clouds later today and stay there for around two months. My advice is to sit out in your garden today if you get the chance because you won’t be sitting outside again any time soon.”

So what kind of weather can we expect for next week?

“You can expect shite weather for next week.” Luke told us. “Monday will start off dull until around midday when it will become even duller. It will then piss rain until June.”
