American singer Mariah Carey back in Ireland to visit her cousin DJ in Mountjoy prison

American singer Mariah Carey flew into Dublin this morning and went straight to Mountjoy prison to see her cousin DJ Carey.

This is the second time this year the “All I want for Christmas” singer has been here to visit her disgraced family member.

The former Kilkenny hurler is serving five and a half years for scamming several people out of large sums of money by shoving an iPhone charger up his nose and pretending he had cancer.

Mariah briefly spoke to reporters on her way into the Joy.

“I’m not proud of what DJ did but family gotta stick together. Up the Cats y’all.”

She’s the second high profile visitor the disgraced former hurler has had in a month after his half-brother, Hollywood movie star Jim Carey, was seen leaving Mountjoy prison two weeks ago.

Prison sources have confirmed that DJ Carey has been put in a cell with Enoch Burke just for the craic to see how they get on.
