American singer Mariah Carey visits her cousin DJ in Mountjoy prison

American singer Mariah Carey flew into Dublin this morning and went straight to Mountjoy prison to visit her cousin DJ Carey.

The former Kilkenny hurler is serving five and a half years for scamming several people out of large sums of money by shoving an iPhone charger up his nose and pretending he had cancer.

Mariah briefly spoke to reporters on her way into the Joy.

“I’m not proud of what DJ did but family gotta stick together. Up the Cats!”

She’s the second high profile visitor the disgraced former hurler has had in a week after his uncle Jim Carey the Hollywood movie star was seen leaving Mountjoy prison last Thursday.

Prison sources have confirmed that DJ Carey has been put in a cell with Enoch Burke just for the craic to see how they get on.
