Fine Gael’s Charlie Flanagan Calls For A Month Of Mourning And Ireland To Re-join The UK

Fine Gael TD Charlie Flanagan has called for a month of mourning following the death of Britain’s Prince Philip. The outspoken Laois TD who is well known for his love of all things British, including Ulster Unionism, went even further and said it’s time for the Republic of Ireland to seriously consider the benefits of re-joining the United Kingdom.

“I propose we  hand our part of the island back to Her Majesty and apologise for the state of the kip. Think how wonderful this place could be and indeed would be if it weren’t for the actions of those treasonous traitors of 1916. Giving the Irish people notions above their station. What the hell were they playing at?”

Mr. Flanagan said he was shocked and saddened when he heard about the passing of Prince Philip yesterday.

“Shocked and saddened I was. Not only shocked but also saddened. Very shocked and very saddened. I still can’t believe it if I’m honest. Taken from us way too soon. The man was a picture of health. When I saw those photos of him leaving hospital last month I would have thought he had at least another couple of weeks in him.”
