Experts say a mysterious new piece of art that appears to have been drawn overnight on a Dublin wall is probably not the work of Banksy.

People in Dublin’s north inner-city began posting photos this morning of the strange new image that was drawn on a wall on Oriel Street, with many speculating that it could be the work of the famous UK graffiti artist.

However, Professor Gavin Molloy from Dublin’s Institute of Art and Design said that’s highly unlikely.

“Banksy tends to make political statements with his art and I really can’t see what he would be saying with this piece. He’s very anti-war so I’m guessing he’s not a huge fan of the swastika and none of his previous work leads me to believe he would ever draw a cock and balls.”

Professor Molloy also said the difference in quality in clear for all to see.

“Whoever did this actually drew it themselves whereas Banksy just sprays over a stencil which any 4 year-old could do. He’s never done anything this good in his life.”
