Delight For Country Music Fans As Garth Brooks Hints At Croke Park Return

Country music star Garth Brooks is reported to be planning a series of gigs in Croke Park in 2022, seven years after he cancelled five sold out shows at the Dublin venue after a spat with Dublin City Council over planning permission because of objections from the local residents association.

Neither Croke Park officials nor Aiken Promotions have commented on the story but Virgin Media News is reporting that negotiations are being finalised for the former Tottenham striker to perform at the venue in September 2022.

Brooks temporarily retired from the country music scene to concentrate on his work for BBC Sport as the lead pundit on Final Score on BBC One on Saturday afternoons.

The Friends in Low Places singer also became the first ever black chairman of the English Professional Footballers Associates.

However, it seems the biggest country music star in the world is finally ready to put the football punditry to one side and return to our shores in what will be his first Irish gigs since 1997.

So get your stetsons and cowboy boots ready folks because Garth Brooks is coming to town. Yeeehaw! Come on you Spurs.
