Solskjaer To Give Ronaldo A Couple Of Months On The Bench First To Acclimatise

Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has said he’ll give new signing Cristiano Ronaldo a few months on the bench to acclimatise before putting him in his starting line up.

The United boss told reporters “You don’t buy the world’s top players and put them on the pitch. Well I don’t anyway. Cristiano is going to need a couple of months at least to get used to the lads and his new surroundings. I’d say he should be ready to play by Christmas.”

United made some big signings this transfer window but for some reason Solskjaer seems reluctant to play them. He started both Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane on the bench against Southampton last week when United dropped vital points. He also inexplicably picked the world’s worst footballer Anthony Martial in his starting line-up when Edin Cavani was available.

“I made a mistake on that one. The lads kept telling me before the game ‘Don’t pick Anthony, he’s shite.’ I should’ve listened. Especially when Anthony himself also said it to me but you live and learn.”
