Trump says Musk’s $5bn Starship rocket successfully exploded after take-off

President Donald Trump has claimed that Elon Musk’s Starship rocket was meant to explode after take-off yesterday and that the launch was a huge success.

SpaceX’s Starship rocket exploded during a test flight, months after a previous failed launch attempt – with multiple flights having to be grounded in Florida due to falling debris.

The 403-foot rocket blasted off from Starbase in Boca Chica, Texas, at around 12.30am Irish time and blew up a few minutes later.

“It was great. It was wonderful.” President Trump told reporters in the Oval office this morning. “That’s exactly what we wanted and expected to happen and if you don’t believe me you hate America and you’re a communist.”

Elon Musk said previously that his SpaceX rockets would be carrying people to Mars by now. Unfortunately they still can’t get out of Texas without blowing up.
