Sinn Féin slams lack of diversity in “all white” government
Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald slammed the lack of diversity in what she labelled the new “All White government” during a heated debate in Leinster House yesterday.
She said Ireland is now a multi-cultural society and asked why this is not reflected in the make up of the new government.
“You’re looking very pale over there lads.” she quipped while addressing members of the new cabinet. “With your big Irish heads on ya. Where are the Muslims? Where are the Palestinians? Where are the Muslim Palestinians?”
McDonald also said that she is confident her party will win the next general election and get Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael out of government once and for all.
“Sinn Féin will win the next election. The people want change. They just don’t realise it yet. I have no doubt I will be the next Taoiseach and let me be very clear, when that happens I will work tirelessly every day to improve the lives of every man, woman and child in Palestine.”
