Weather Shite Again

After several days of glorious sunshine when most of the country saw temperatures in the mid 20s, the weather has suddenly taken a turn for the worse with overcast skies and dark clouds as far as the eye can see.

So what can we expect in the coming weeks? We asked Anthony Heffernan from Met Eireann what kind of summer we have in store.

“We have a predominantly shite summer in store. Warm, sunny days will be quickly followed by a reality check reminding us that we live on an island in the north Atlantic famous for its lashing rain and howling winds.”

Every year thousands of Irish people jet off on their holidays to warmer climates to get some much needed sunshine. However this year with all the travel restrictions that’s simply out of the question. So what options do Irish sun worshippers have this summer?

Anthony from Met Eireann says “Sunbathe any chance you get because more than likely when you step outside your house the very next day you’ll be drenched in a torrential downpour and have the tits frozen off yourself. This is Ireland folks, not the Canary Islands. Basically you’ve got two options. Stop moaning or emigrate.”
