Weather Shite Again

After a week of sweltering heat and glorious sunshine, the weather has suddenly taken a turn for the worse with dark overcast skies and rain covering much of the country.

The change in conditions has left many people wondering if that’s the end of the good weather for this year? So what can we expect in the coming weeks? We asked Anthony Heffernan from Met Eireann what kind of weather we have in store for the rest of the summer.

“Mainly shite.” he told us. “That weather last week was a freak accident and probably won’t happen again for a hundred years. We often hear people in this country saying they wouldn’t bother going abroad on holidays if we had sunny weather in Ireland. Well get booking those flights people because normal service has resumed.”

Does Anthony think we’ll have another heatwave next year?

“No. Those grey skies you see today are what you’ll be seeing for 99% of the rest of you life. If you get a good sunny day next year get out and enjoy it because more than likely when you step outside your door the following day you’ll get drenched in a torrential downpour. This is Ireland folks, not the Canary Islands. Basically you’ve got two options. Stop moaning or emigrate.”
