Another Olympic Medal As Ireland Take Bronze In Poodle Clipping

There was more Olympic glory for Ireland last night as Aoife Dunne won the bronze medal in the poodle clipping competition. Friends and supporters in her hometown of Tullamore in Co Offaly have already began the celebrations after staying up all night to follow the action. Aoife’s father Pat said all her hard work has finally paid off.

“I’m so happy for her. She’s been clipping poodles since she was a child. Not just poodles either. All sorts of dogs. Any dog she’d find wandering along the street she’d bring it home and shave it bald. The neighbours often complained of course and tried to tell us she was a weirdo but look at her now. We’re so proud.”

The next big medal hopeful for Ireland is Siobhán Murphy who takes part in the women’s Pigeon Strangling final tonight.

Later Kevin Cahill from Dublin takes on the German favourite and world champion Franz Gutentag in the much anticipated Putting Things on Top of Other Things semi-final.
