Africa Sends Food Aid To Britain

Several African nations have began sending lorry loads of food to Britain as the country struggles to fill supermarket shelves. Marks & Spencers have joined the growing list of UK retailers to announce they have been forced to shut stores and scale back plans after struggling to keep the shelves filled with fresh food since Brexit kicked in.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed told CNN “Wealthy countries have a duty to feed the starving nations of this world. Looking at news reports from Britain breaks my heart. It makes us realise how lucky we are to live in Africa. As Bono once sang ‘Tonight thank God it’s them, instead of you.’

So what kind of food supplies can the British expect to arrive from Africa?

“We’re sending grain, wheat, flour, all the essentials and some specialist food because of where it’s going. For example, there’s a lorry full of yorkshire puddings. We know how much the British love a good yorkshire pudding. Frankly I think it tastes like eating the inside of a tennis ball but who are we to mock another culture’s disgusting food.”

Mr. Ahmed said his country is helping to end hunger in Britain in other ways too.

“At this very moment our biggest pop stars are in a studio making a charity song called Feed the Brits. I’m told it’s very catchy.”
