There was good news for lovers of traditional Christmas songs today after singer Chris Rea confirmed he’ll be driving home for Christmas again this year, in his own words “Covid or no fuckin’ Covid.” There had been concerns after the UK government said they may extend travel restrictions into the festive season but the singer told reporters he couldn’t care less.
“Rest assured, come December I will be driving home for Christmas like I’ve always done and singing about it along the way. Restrictions or no restrictions I’ll be on that motorway and no posh Tory twat is going to stop me.”
Christmas certainly wouldn’t be the same without Chris driving home, Slade wishing it was Christmas every day and Wham singing about last Christmas so although the coronavirus has ruined most of the year for everyone at least some things always stay the same and our radios will be playing all the Christmas classics.
As always radio stations across Ireland have been warned that any of them that play Ronan Keating’s appalling version of Fairytale of New York will be be shut down immediately and the offending DJ will face an automatic prison sentence and deportation for life upon release.
